Myagdi wards to have fund for treatment of poor pregnant women

 

Babiyachaur, Myagdi, A fund will be established in each ward of Annapurna rural municipality in Myagdi in a bid to provide financial help in the treatment of poor pregnant women. 
A meeting of the municipality held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of its chairman Dam Bahadur Pun gave a nod to this effect and decided to release Rs 100,000 each for the fund. 
Poor pregnant women will be provided with financial assistance in the form of transportation fare while visiting nearby health facility for delivery, said the municipality's spokesperson Krishna Prasad Baruwal. 
Likewise, the meeting decided to release budget for various development projects. Under this, Rs 5 million has been set aside for the upgradation of Histan-Ramche road, while 1 million for the construction of a road that links Chitre and Ghodepani leading to a tourist destination. 
Likewise, Rs 2 million has been allocated to open Besi-Lekgaun track. 
The meeting also decided to release Rs 200,000 for the 6th Myagdi festival to be organised in the district later this year, and Rs 100,000 for a free heart check-up camp to be organised in Bhurung Tatopani on December 23. 
A total of Rs 240,000 has been set aside for each ward to run an awareness campaign to empower and increase leadership capacity of women and Dalit community.
