Lalita Niwas Land Scam: Kathmandu District Court issues arrest warrant against 300 individuals
KATHMANDU, Jan 6: The Kathmandu District Court issued arrest warrants against more than 300 individuals on the charge of forging documents in order to capture the government-owned land at the Lalita Niwas in Baluwatar, as of Wednesday.
Earlier the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had filed a case against 175 individuals at the Special Court on the charge of transferring nearly 137 ropani of government land in the name of private individuals.
Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has been separately investigating those individuals for their alleged connection with the Baluwatar land scam although cases against 175 individuals including former ministers Bijay Kumar Gachhadar, Dambar Shrestha and Chandra Dev Joshi are under consideration at the Special Court.
