Nepal has 6,921 active corona cases

KATHMANDU: Nepal has as many as 6,921 active cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). 

According to a regular media release by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), three districts in the Kathmandu Valley --- Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur--- still have more than 500 active cases of the viral disease. As of Friday afternoon, Kathmandu district reported 641, Lalitpur 590 and Bhaktapur 485 active cases. 

Meanwhile, Nepal reported a total of 246 new cases and 347 others gained recovery from the disease on Friday. 

No death from the disease was reported in the past 24 hours as of Friday afternoon, according to the ministry. 

As many as 175,567 people were vaccinated on Friday. With this, 28.4 percent of the total population have received the complete doses of the vaccines. The ministry shared that a total of 18,862,216 doses of vaccines have so far been administered to people of various age groups.
