UML Gen Convention: Voting underway (photo feature)
CHITWAN: Voting for various positions including key office bearers of the main opposition CPN-UML is underway at Hotel Seven Star in Sauraha, Chitwan.
The voting, which began hours later than its scheduled, will elect the party’s chairman, six vice chairmen and seven secretaries. Similarly, more than 20 central committee members will also be elected through voting.
The UML has elected leaders for the office bearer positions, central committee and thematic committees unopposed.
Though the party’s establishment faction attempted to complete the process unanimously, Bhim Rawal challenged KP Sharma Oli for the position of party chairman. Similarly, Ghanashyam Bhusal is vying for vice chairman challenging the candidates proposed by Chairman Oli.
