CCMCC to hold meeting amid fears of possible outbreak of Omicron COVID-19 variant in Nepal
KATHMANDU, November 28: A meeting of COVID-19 Crisis Management Coordinator Center (CCMCC) is scheduled to hold a discussion on the possible outbreak of the Omicron, a highly transmissible COVID-19 variant, in Nepal and possible measures to be taken against it on Sunday.
The meeting has been scheduled for 11 AM today, according to Sunita Nepal, spokesperson of CCMCC.
“The meeting will mostly dwell on border security and international flights to and from Nepal,” added Nepal.
Britain, the European Union and India are among those announcing stricter border controls as scientists carry out tests to determine if the mutation is more transmissible or infectious than other variants, or is resistant to vaccines.
