Kathmandu, Minister for Commerce Min Bahadur Biswokarma has stressed that the international community should lend support in increasing export trade volume of the Least Developed Country.
Minister Biswokarma emphasized the need while addressing the 11th ministry-level conference of the World Trade Organization underway in Argentina capital Buenos Aires on Wednesday.
Nepal has firm support to the well-regulated, transparent, inclusive and discrimination free multi-stakeholder trade system, he said, stressing the implementation of the decisions on duty free access to market, rule of origin and free service to the LDCs.
The international support mechanism is crucial for the enhancement of technical, regulatory, institutional and infrastructural capacity of the LDC, Minister Biswokarma further said, adding that the commerce sector would have significant space in reducing poverty, creating employment opportunities, sustaining economic growth and economic diversification.
"A balanced, transparent and inclusive trade system is the need of the hour for the well-regulated global trade. It would help achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)", he noted.
