Influence of monsoon wind: precipitation in most places
KATHMANDU, September 6: Rainfall has taken place in most of the places throughout the country due to the influence of the monsoon wind. The precipitation will occur until Tuesday evening.
Senior meteorologist at the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meen Kumar Aryal said rainfall occurred at most places of the country as the monsoon became more active due to the combined impact of the low pressure monsoon system in the Bay of Bengal and the local winds.
"The influence of this system will remain until Tuesday evening and the weather will improve from Wednesday," he said. There is more precipitation in the night and towards the morning due to the impact of the local wind.
It is generally to fully cloudy throughout the country at present and light to moderate rainfall along with thunder is taking place at many places of Province 1, Province 2 and Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces; and at some places of the rest of the provinces.
The weather will be generally to fully cloudy throughout the country at night with chances of light to moderate rainfall at many places and of heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder at some places of Province 1, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, the Meteorological Forecasting Division said.
Several places in Kathmandu Valley have been inundated due to the incessant rainfall since last night. Kathmandu Valley recorded 121.5 millimetres rain, according to the Division.
