Tanahu DAO directs for school closure
DAMAULI, AUGUST 3: The District Administration Office, Tanahu has directed all schools to shutdown teaching learning activities. Earlier, the private and community schools were operated physically without permission and in the face of coronavirus risk.
The Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) had published a news story about it on Monday.
A meeting held under the coordination of DAO directed for the shutdown of schools in view of the coronavirus threat, according to assistant chief district officer Chitrangad Baral.
The meeting was attended by the PABSON, NPABSON and chief of education section at Byas Municipality. Assistant CDO Baral further said schools were not allowed to run the classes physically until the decision by COVID-19 crisis management committee. "Administration has not allowed the school opening, so they remain closed," he added.
Similarly, education section chief at Byas Municipality, Nagendra Prasad Regmi, wondered why some schools were run though they were not allowed.
The lockdown is in place till Wednesday. But, some schools were found running physical classes.
However, it is alarming that with the relaxed lockdown the coronavirus cases are rising in the district, thereby posing serious threat to human health.
