Ex Speaker Mahara gets clean chit from Patan High Court
KATHMANDU, July 28: The High Court Patan gave a clean chit to former Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara, who was accused of attempt to rape.
A division bench of judges Madhav Pokharel and Bimal Subedi handed down the decision on Tuesday, seconding the Kathmandu district court’s verdict on the matter.
According to high court registrar Gajendra Bahadur Singh, the court endorsed the Kathmandu district court decision on Mahara’s case and gave him a clean chit.
Kathmandu District Court had given a clean chit to Mahara in a case filed against him on the charge of attempting to rape a woman staff, working at the legislature-parliament secretariat.
