14 houses swept away, 50 at risk in Lamjung
LAMJUNG, June 16: Flood in Dordi rivulet has swept away 14 houses and put other 50 houses at risk at Hilebazaar of Dordi rural municipality-8 in the district.
Ward chairperson Tul Bahadur Ghale said that the flood in the rivulet following incessant rainfall from Sunday has swept away 14 houses from Tuesday afternoon till this morning.
Out of 160 houses at Helebazaar, 50 houses are at the risk, he added. Similarly, five-six high-station electric poles have fallen down due to the flood. Movement along suspension bridge has been disrupted due to electric wire fallen from the electric pole.
Roads leading towards district headquarters and rural municipality centre from Hilebazaar have also been damaged. The locals have now been kept at Phaleni Secondary School and some houses located at the high area of the bazaar.
Locals said that problem has surfaced to bring the relief materials due to road damaged by flood. Power service has also been disrupted at the area and water level in the rivelet is increasing.
Ghale shared that they have informed the District Administration Office for the relief.
