TU Senate holds informal meeting under Chancellor Oli's chairmanship
Kathmandu, December 22 — An informal meeting of the Tribhuvan University Senate has concluded.
The meeting, which lasted for three and a half hours at the Prime Minister's Office, was chaired by Chancellor KP Sharma Oli, who directed the attendees to focus on student-related agendas.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Oli instructed that another meeting be convened after the 50th convocation ceremony of Tribhuvan University. He emphasized that the next meeting should focus on student-related issues, and all participants should come fully prepared for the discussion.
The meeting was called on the basis of a previous policy session held on December 12, in which not enough discussion had taken place. On that basis, Oli had directed to convene a meeting on Sunday, leading to the informal gathering.
At the meeting, faculty members, staff, and student leaders presented their views. They collectively expressed the opinion that the university should focus more on students.
Chancellor Oli also instructed the Senate members to present a written agenda for the next meeting. Additionally, he urged the university officials to come prepared with thorough homework for the next session.
Since the meeting on Sunday was informal, no formal decisions were made.
