Kathmandu Valley alone reports 2,047 new COVID-19 cases, Nepal’s caseload jumps to 312,699 (Check the complete graph)

Nepal confirmed a total of 4,897 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours

KATHMANDU, April 28: Nepal reported a total of 4,897 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease in the past 24 hours. 

According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 4,774 people were diagnosed for the disease through 13,879 RT-PCR tests while 123 others tested positive through 955 antigen tests. 

This has taken the country’s total casetally to 312,699 including 3,211 fatalities caused by the viral infection. The ministry confirmed 17 more deaths in the past 24 hours. 

As of Wednesday afternoon, 30,209 patients are yet to recover from the disease. 

Kathmandu Valley, Banke and Rupandehi report scary daily-count 

The Kathmandu Valley reported a total of 2,047 daily-count of COVID-19 cases. Of the three districts in the Valley, Kathmandu confirmed 1,464 cases while 232 people in Bhaktapur and 351 others in Lalitpur tested positive for the virus in the past 24 hours. 

Similarly, Rupandehi district in Lumbini Province witnessed a sharp rise in new COVID-19 cases as 434 infections were confirmed on Wednesday alone. Banke, another COVID-19 hotspot in the western terai, saw 328 new cases.
