Nepal’s COVID-19 graph rising: 27,413 cases and 146 deaths since April 1

KATHMANDU, April 27: Triggered by a new variant, the second wave of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has been spreading far and wide across the country. 

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, as many as 27,413 people were diagnosed with the viral infection between April 1 and 26. Similarly, 146 fatalities linked with the disease were reported in the period. 

The ministry on Monday confirmed as many as 3,556 cases across the valley including 1,498 those detected in the Kathmandu Valley. Owing to the exacerbating COVID-19 crisis, the three districts of the valley decided to enforce prohibitory orders starting Thursday. Most regular services except for emergency ones will be prohibited for a week.
