SC denies to issue interim order sought by UML's Nepal faction

KATHMANDU, April 27: The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday ruled out giving an interim order in the writ petition filed by CPN- UML leaders  Madhav Kumar Nepal, Bhim Rawal, Ghanshyam Bhusal and Surendra Pandey.

The four leaders had lodged the petition arguing that UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli took action against them by breaching the party statute.

A single bench of Justice Prakash Kumar Dhungana on Monday stated that such an issue is not deemed to be interim order and it could be reached to a conclusion after holding consultation between the two sides.

The four leaders had lodged the petition on April 22 against the Election Commission of Nepal, CPN (UML) Chairman Oli, General Secretary Ishwar Pokhrel, Speaker of House of Representatives (HoR) Agni Prasad Sapkota  among others.

The SC also asked to furnish a written response within 15 days through the Office of Attorney General.
