DAOs in Kathmandu Valley suspend all services except emergency ones for a week

KATHMANDU, April 25: The district administration offices (DAOs) of the three districts in the Kathmandu Valley -- Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur-- have decided to suspend all the regular services except for the emergency ones for the next one week. 

A meeting of the chief district officers (CDOs) of the three districts -- Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur -- held on Sunday decided to suspend all the services for a week effective from Monday. 

Chief district officer of Kathmandu, Kali Prasad Parajuli said that other government offices in the districts are also directed to provide services in shifts owing to exacerbating COVID-19 crisis in the Valley. 

Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley added other 1,498 cases on Sunday alone. As many as 1,132 new cases were detected in Kathmandu district. Similarly, 270 patients tested positive for the virus while 96 others were diagnosed in Bhaktapur district.
