COVID-19: 2,619 new cases, 14 deaths on Saturday

KATHMANDU, April 25: Nepal reported a total of 2,619 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease on Saturday. 

Of the cases confirmed, 2,468 were detected through 7525 RT-PCR tests while 133 others through 1143 antigen tests. 

The Kathmandu valley alone recorded 872 new cases including 644 in Kathmandu district, 141 in Lalitpur and 87 in Bhaktapur. 

The Ministry of Health and Population stated that the total caseload reached 297,087. With the latest reports, the country now has 16,828 active reported cases of coronavirus infection and 71 of them are in quarantine facilities. 

According to the Ministry, 14 more deaths were reported due to coronavirus infection on Saturday. With this, the total death toll hit 3,136 in Nepal.
