Affected locals threaten to obstruct electricity transmission line in Lamjung

Besishahar, Lamjung - The affected local residents have threatened to obstruct an electricity transmission line in the process for construction at Marsyangdi corridor in the district. 

"We will obstruct the transmission line if our demands are not met," said the struggle committee at a press conference today in Lamjung. 

The locals are not satisfied with the compensation given them for acquiring their land for the construction of the transmission line provided by the authority tasked with constructing the 220 kV electricity transmission line, said the struggle committee. 

The struggle committee also demanded that public hearing be conducted about the transmission line among the stakeholders, and environmental impact assessment also be done.
