NWPP urged to enter electoral alliance

Bhaktapur - The CPN (UML) has urged the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party (NWPP) to consider entering electoral alliance in view of upcoming elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies.

At a programme organized by Press Chautari Nepal Bhaktapur Chapter here today, the UML leaders urged the NWPP to consider entering electoral alliance with the leftists even if it is only for the Bhaktapur district.

UML's central committee member Som Mishra, former Minister Mahesh Basnet and UML Bhaktapur Chairperson Rajendra Rajthala made the appeal to the NWPP, arguing that the leftist alliance was forged to usher the country to prosperity.

They also argued that it was appropriate for the NWPP to forge alliance with other leftist forces as it is itself a leftist party.

Furthermore, they also reminded that during the KP Sharma Oli's led government, development budget amounting to Rs 5 billion was allocated for Bhaktapur.

Press Chautari Nepal's Bhaktapur Chairperson Kabita Thapa, Chautari's Bhaktapur In-Charge Prakash Silwal, and Federation of Nepalis Journalists Central Vice-President Dilip Thapa Magar among others underscored the need for the journalists to disseminate impartial and truthful news.
