Finance Minister, South Korean Ambassador discuss bilateral issues
Kathmandu - Ambassador of South Korea to Nepal Park Chong-suk on Thursday called on Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel. During the meeting held at Finance Ministry, discussions were held on issues of bilateral issues, collaboration and cooperation, the Finance Ministry's Secretariat said. On the occasion, Finance Minister Poudel extended gratitude towards South Korean support to Nepal in the areas of education, health care and infrastructure development through Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
Stating that the areas of bilateral cooperation have deepened in trade, investment and employment areas too, Minister Poudel shared that enrollment of Nepalis in South Korea through EPS has helped the country through their skills learned in South Korea. Similarly, he thanked the ambassador for South Korean support and cooperation in Nepal's efforts taken against COVID-19.
Furthermore, Poudel urged Ambassador Park to help further for increased presence of South Korean nationals in Nepal in the form of tourists, traders and investors. It is said that Minister Poudel assured the South Korean Ambassador of the Ministry's support for the South Korean-assisted projects in Nepal. On the occasion, the Ambassador informed Minister Poudel that South Korea was expanding its cooperation in Nepal's technical and vocational education while promising to coordinate to bring in more South Korean investment from the private sector. Likewise, the South Korea returnee migrants would be provided with vocational training to ensure their entrepreneurship, the South Korean Ambassador shared.
