Karnali able to consolidate nation's economy: President
Jumla - President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said that Karnali holds the capacity to strengthen the economy of the country.
Inaugurating a new laboratory building of Chandannath Namuna Secondary School in Khalanga today, she said Karnali is land of abundant possibilities, full of natural resources.
"Karnali is also a historical land of language, art and culture, and is rich in rare wildlife and plant species," she said.
The President however expressed sympathy over the absence of a normal living for the inhabitants of the region due to lack of socio-economic development. "It is only the happiness and prosperity of Karnali that will bring radical change to the face of the country, and hence it is the responsibility of all to develop and enforce a roadmap of overall development of the country."
Also speaking on the occasion, former State Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Bal Bahadur Mahat, expressed the view that Karnali is still behind in education sector. He also requested the President for her support in upgrading the Karnali highway.
Likewise, principal of Chandannath Model Secondary School, Tanka Bahadur Mahat appealed to the Head of the State to provide justice to the Karnali region.
President Bhandari also visited the Mountain Agriculture Research Institution in Guthichaur. Likewise, she offered worship at the temple of Chandannath and Bhairabnath Baba.
President Bhandari left here for Dipayal. She had arrived here in the morning.
