Seven local levels free of COVID-19

Kathmandu - Seven local levels in the district have no single case of COVID-19 of late. Of the total 13 local levels in the district, Mandan Deupur, Municipality, and Roshi, Bethanchok, Temal, Mahabharat, Khanikhola and Chaurideurali Rural Municipalities have no single case of COVID-19. According to the local authority, 43 per cent infected are in Banepa Municipality alone while only one infected is seen in Namobuddha. It was shared that there are 182 males and 112 female active cases.

According to District Health Office Chief Dr Narendra Jha, of the total infected ones, 128 are in Dhulikhel, 32 in Panauti, four in Panchkhal, one in Namobuddha and two in Bhumlu Rural Municipality. Jha added that 11 infected people returned home after complete recovery while 179 were in different isolations in the hospitals. Similarly, 31 were in home isolations.

Two died of the coronavirus infection in the district so far. Since then, contract tracing was intensified and the suspected ones kept in isolation till report was received. There are quarantines with 903 beds and isolation centres with 209 beds in 13 local levels in the district.

According to office report, 30 males and 35 females are kept in quarantines at local levels while 99 males and 209 females have returned home after recovery. It is shared that 426 migrant workers returned in the district so far and the process to return home from abroad is also underway.
