Aathbishkot Municipality for setting up local industries

Kathmandu - Aathbishkot Municipality of Rukum Paschim has decided to observe the new fiscal year 2020/21 as the Industry Year during which many locals would be encouraged to set up industries and run at local level. The Municipality aims to be self-reliant in producing garments like sweater and trousers, said Mayor Gorkh Bahadur KC.

The policy and programme of the Municipality has also emphasized production of construction materials locally. It is believed that the establishment of industries would help discourage the import of goods. Mayor KC shared, "We will make criteria and procedures on the bases of extending support to industries. We will also allocate necessary budget for the same.

" The zero-interest loan is one of the schemes the Municipality is mulling to foster entrepreneurship among the would-be small and medium scale entrepreneurs. The local financial institutions are urged to provide loan to those willing to run enterprises and the Municipality would pay back the interest of those loan, according to the Mayor.
