hree fear dead, three injured in landslide

Kathmandu - Janak Shrestha Three people feared dead in the landslide that occurred at Besishahar municiplaity-7 in Lamjung district. Police confirmed that local Depak Tamang, 33, Chhewang Tamang, 9, and Bimaya Tamang, 26, lost their lives when the landslide gushed into Deepak's house at around 11.45 last night.

All three members of the Tamang family feared dead in the landslide that fell around 25/30 meters above the house of the deceased, said Police Inspector of the District Police Office Lamjung Om Prakash Pun. A rescue team comprising personnel from Armed Police Force and Nepal Police as well as locals had recovered the dead bodies from the house.

The dead bodies have been kept at Besishahar-based District Community Hospital for post-mortem. Likewise, the landslide has also injured other three persons who were serving the house of Tamang. The injured are Santa Bahadur Gurung, 26, of Salbise in the same ward, Suman Gurung, 20, of Besishahar municiplaity-10 and Anil Gurung, 23, police confirmed. They are being treated at the district community hospital and are in normal condition.
