DEO Khotang gets scholarship funds from FEPB

Khotang - The District Education Office (DEO),Khotang has received scholarship funds meant for the distribution to children of those parents who lost their lives during the course of foreign employment . 

The amount was sent by the Foreign Employment Promotion Board (FEPB). 

Recommendation letter from the respective school and the DEO, parent's passport, labour permit, relationships confirmation letter and the death certificate or other documents confirming the death are required to claim the scholarship, DEO Dhan Bahadur Shrestha said. 

The scholarship amount was released under the Board's Welfare Fund. Contribution of Rs 1,000 by a foreign employment aspirant to the Fund is mandatory. Children up to eighth grade will be provided Rs 8,000 annually while children from nine to 12 classes are entitled to draw Rs 12,000 yearly. This year, a total of 22 school children across the district are getting the monetary assistance for their study. Last year, this number was three. 

However, some liable children are learnt to have been deprived of this facility as there are not well informed about this and lack the knowledge about the legal process the claim.
