80 industries in Hetauda Industrial Corridor start business

Kathmandu - Out of 111 industries located at Hetauda Industrial Corridor, 80 have resumed their productions, according to the Industrial Corridor Management Office. Chief of the Office, Rajendra Kandel, said though the industries are yet to run in the full capacity though they resumed their business after the lockdown. The industries have used only 60 per cent of their full capacity to produce outputs, he added.

Big-scale industries including Asian Paints, RN Chemicals and Khajuri Nepal as well as small-scale industries including dairy and drinking water have started their production. Although the industries have resumed their production, they have been facing human resources crunch and shortage of raw materials.

The industries have faced losses of around Rs 300 million every day due to lockdown, it is said. Similarly, processes have been forwarded to bring Hetauda Cement Industry into operation with its full capacity.
