MWFC urges media houses to remunerate working journalists

Kathmandu - The Minimum Wage Fixation Committee (MWFC) has expressed serious concern over the act of some media houses to not timely provide remuneration and removing working journalists and media workers from service.

Issuing a press release today, Committee chair Rajendra Aryal said the journalists and media workers are facing tough times eking out their livelihood after being denied timely payment and also removed from service.

"I urge the concerned media houses to immediately stop the act of firing working journalists, media workers and employees and provide them with remuneration without any further delay", he said.

The committee also urged the government to make immediate arrangements for providing journalists, photo journalists and employees with necessary health checkups and security services at this difficult time.
