FNJ provided with face masks to support working journalists

Kathmandu - Nepal Pariwar Dal has provided face masks to journalists working in forefront during the lockdown. In consideration to the risks facing by working journalists for contracting the COVID-19 infection during their line of duty in the ongoing nation-wide lockdown, the party donated the protective gear to the journalists through Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ).

Party President Eknath Dhakal handed over 2,000 sets of mask to FNJ President Govinda Acharya. Dhakal, also the former Minister, said that it was a token support to the journalists working relentlessly during the time of health crisis just to make public well-informed.

On the occasion, FNJ President Acharya pledged to provide facial masks to all journalists who were working in the field during the time of pandemic.

“The government has announced incentives to the health workers, security personnel and staffers working during the lockdown but the journalists are spared. Neither has the government announced any incentives nor any protective gears to journalists who are working to disseminate news to the public,” said Acharya, ranting against the irony.

The party also had recently provided a total of 5,000 facial masks to the COVID-19 Unified Command Hospital.
