Put citizens first in security policy: Minister Sharma

Dhulikhel - Home Minister Janardan Sharma has said the citizens should be placed in first priority of the security policy. 

"Major basis of security is the people", he emphasized while speaking at a workshop organized by the Home Ministry for the formulation of policy on internal security at Dhulikhel, Kavre. 

Similarly, the Minister said it was both the opportunity and challenge for us to get the policies being formulated in line with the federal set up. 

According to him, the Ministry should think the policy along with the planning, structure and organization. He admitted that though the government was carrying out its duties, the atmosphere of fear and problems in society way yet to be eliminated. It is also the fact to be incorporated in the policy. 

On the occasion, Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shyam Kumar Shrestha, said the internal security policy should not forget the facts that Nepal is diverse in terms of caste, culture, religion and geography.
