Deuba urges party cadres to bridge rift

Chitwan–Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged all cadres to maintain unity and translate it into action in the upcoming by-election.

During his meeting with the party cadres here today, he urged them to brush aside bitterness and agony so as to secure victory in the election, which, he said, would put the intraparty conflict to an end.

He was of the view that the party faced a defeat in the latest elections due to factionalism. "It is the high demand of time to act in unity to make party candidates victorious in the upcoming elections," he asserted.

According to him, party candidates for the local level election have been confirmed while candidates for the House of Representatives and State Assembly elections would be declared by the party office -bearers meeting taking place this evening.

The former Prime Minister further claimed that the NC popularity among the people remained as it is. "Disputes in regard with the party sister organisations will end through a central committee meeting," he added.
