Monsoon activities weaken today

Kathmandu–The monsoon which had been in full swing since Friday has signaled gradual process of normalization today. Monsoon trough which is presently based in the Tarai territory will be moving back towards the south from tomorrow.

According to Meteorological Forecasting Division meteorologist Samir Shrestha, as the monsoon trough starts moving towards the south, India will see active monsoon.

Widespread rain from light to moderate scale with general cloudy throughout the country is expected today with the chance of heavy rain at one or two places.

Rain is predicted at few places with general cloudy throughout the country on Monday. Particularly, some parts in the central region and one or two places of eastern and western Nepal are likely to experience heavy rains with general to mostly cloudy weather throughout the country, the Division said.

According to the Division's latest updates, the Kathmandu Valley received one mm rain, Pokhara 37 mm, Dipayal 19 mm, Biratnagar 12 mm, Nepalgunj 64 mm, Jumla 2 mm, Dang 20 mm and Simara 70 mm.
