NC candidate Koirala tops vote count in Biratnagar metropolis

KATHMANDU, May 15: Candidate of Nepali Congress backed by the ruling alliance Nagesh Koirala is currently leading the vote count in Biratnagar metropolis.

Koirala has so far garnered 2,583 votes while his nearest contender Sagar Kumar Thapa of CPN-UML has collected 1,910 votes. Besides, an independent candidate Umesh Kumar Yadav is in third position with 763 votes,

Likewise, Silpa Karki, CPN-UML’s candidate for the post of deputy mayor is currently leading the vote count with 1,923 votes. Her nearest contender was Amrendra Yadav of Janata Samajbadi Party with 1,208 votes.
