Kamal Thapa to form new party by third week of Feb
KATHMANDU, Feb 9: Former Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Kamal Thapa who quit the party on Tuesday, is preparing to form a new party by the first week of Falgun (third week of February).
According to a source close to Thapa, ‘monarchy’ won’t be the agenda of the new party. “Only ‘the Hindu Nation’ will be the party’s agenda.”
Thapa has already consulted with the Election Commission regarding the formation of a new party.
Leaders close to Thapa are soon to quit the RPP and join Thapa except Vice Chair Buddhiman Tamang and General Secretary Bhuwan Phatak.
It has been learned that Thapa has also requested former Chairman of the party, Pashupati Shumsher Rana to join him. Rana, on his part, refused Thapa’s request, according to a leader close to Thapa.
