Regular teaching and learning in Upper Dolpa

 

DOLPA, Aug 15L Most of the schools in Upper Dolpa have been operating continuously since Baisakh even though educational institutions remain closed across the country. Most of the schools in Dolpo Buddha, Charkatangsong and Shey-Phoksundo villages of Upper Dolpa have started teaching and learning activities from the start of the new academic year. The new academic session starts in the month of Fagun in Upper Dolpa. According to local Pema Gurung, all the schools in Dolpo Buddha have started operating as usual since Baisakh.

According to him, schools in Upper Dolpa were not closed even during last year's first wave of coronavirus pandemic. Last year, the exams were held on time. There are six schools in Dolpo Buddha. Some schools in Charkatangsong and Shey-Phoksundo are also operating. Spokesperson of Dolpo Buddha rural municipality Kyalpo Thapa Bhote said that the status of corona infection was normal and did not have much effect. 

There are two academic sessions in Dolpa. Upper Dolpa has been established as an area with less contact with people from outside. People say that there is no problem with COVID-19 infection as the border point with neighboring China remains closed too.
