Weapon stolen from barracks used to 'murder' soldier
KATHMANDU, Aug 8: Bharat Gurung, Sergeant of Nepal Army was found dead at Bharatpur-17, Simaldanda in Chitwan district on July 22.
According to a preliminary investigation by police, he was shot dead by another army man Gangahar Dahakl. SP at Chitwan District Police Office said that an automatic sub machine gun (SMG) was used to shoot Gurung dead.
It was revealed in the police investigation that Dhakal stole the weapon from an army barracks some two years ago. POlice infestation revealed that Dahal stole the gun from Kali Bahadur Battalion in Chitwan.
Accused Dahakal belongs to Chitwan’s Kalika Municipality-12, Padampur while the deceased army man is from Nilkantha Municipality in Dhading district.
