Madhesh Province Achieves 78.59% Paddy Plantation

Janakpurdham. Madhesh Province has achieved 78.59 percent paddy plantation so far. This is plantation in more than three lakh hectares of land.

According to the Directorate of Agricultural Development, Madhesh Province, as of Shrawan 7, paddy plantation has been done in three lakh 580 hectares of land in the province. Siraha has the highest at 94 percent and Mahottari has the lowest at 55 percent plantation. This year, due to sufficient rainfall, farmers have enthusiastically engaged in paddy plantation.

Farmers have used improved varieties of paddy seeds this year and have also paid attention to the management of chemical and organic fertilizers, said Kiran Bishwakarma, Horticulture Development Officer at the Directorate. Meanwhile, farmers have complained about the lack of irrigation infrastructure and fertilizers in some places.
