CPN UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel Stresses State Accountability in Education, Health, and Employment

Kathmandu. CPN UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has stated that efforts should be made to make the state accountable and responsible for education, health, and employment. General Secretary Pokharel said this during an interaction held in Chyasal to make the party's role in parliament more effective, organized by the UML Parliamentary Affairs Department.

"When ancestral property is being depleted in the name of health and education, frustration towards the state increases. At that time, the party and the state cannot be separated," said General Secretary Pokharel, "As a result, dissatisfaction towards the state turning into dissatisfaction towards the party, accusations and allegations against old parties became linked with dissatisfaction."

General Secretary Pokharel stated that to regain lost public opinion, advocacy should be initiated to make the state responsible and accountable for education, health, and employment.

 "The state must be made responsible for education, health, and employment," he said, "This also falls within the general policy."

General Secretary Pokharel said that one should work to make oneself popular on the foundation of one's values and policies, and should not lean towards populism. For that, he instructed the party's MPs to make their activities within parliament more effective by taking necessary support.
