Nine Dead in Separate Road Accidents Across Nepal

KATHMANDU. Nine people have died in separate road accidents in various districts of the country. These accidents occurred in Kathmandu, Sindhuli, Rupandehi, Tanahu, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Kaski, and Kavre, resulting in the loss of lives.

Kathmandu Metropolitan City-11, Bhotebahal, a pedestrian woman died on Sunday night after being hit by a vehicle with registration number Ba.3 Kha 4640. The woman, approximately 28 years old, whose name, surname, and permanent address are unknown, died during treatment at the National Trauma Center. The police have taken the vehicle's driver under control.

Similarly, in Sindhuli's Kamala Mai Municipality-8, Karkare, a five-year-old girl, Shanvi Thapa, died after being crushed by a tractor with registration number Na.6 Ta 2534 that started moving on its own while parked. She died during treatment at the District Hospital Sindhuli, and the police are searching for the absconding tractor driver.

In Rupandehi's Devdaha Municipality-10, a motorcycle with registration number Lu.14 Pa 2974, traveling from Butwal to Bhairahawa, met with an accident on Monday morning, resulting in the death of its 32-year-old driver, Prem Sapkota from Bardaghat, during treatment at Lumbini Provincial Hospital. Another person riding on the motorcycle is undergoing treatment at the same hospital.

In Tanahu's Bandipur Rural Municipality-4, Gumba, a tipper with registration number Ga.1 Ka 5466 lost control and met with an accident, resulting in the death of its 32-year-old driver, Chunu Shrestha from Vyas, during treatment at the Army Hospital Phulbari.

In Lalitpur's Godavari Municipality-3, Nayabato, a nine-year-old pedestrian boy, Palten Tamang, died on Sunday evening after being hit by a motorcycle with an unknown registration number, during treatment at Patan Hospital. The police have intensified the search for the absconding motorcycle and its driver.

Likewise, in Chitwan's Bharatpur Metropolitan City-15, a truck with registration number Na.5 Kha 5816 collided with a scooter with registration number Ba.Pra.06-004 Pa 7248, resulting in the death of two people riding the scooter. The deceased have been identified as scooter driver Ashok Bhandari, 22, and Rajiv Gurung, 19. They died during treatment at Bharatpur Government Hospital, while the truck driver has been taken into police custody.

In Kaski's Pokhara Metropolitan City-6, Bulaundi, a motorcycle with registration number Ga.9 Pa 9425 lost control on a downhill slope and met with an accident, resulting in the death of its 23-year-old driver, Bibash Mall Thakuri from Bagmara, during treatment at Gandaki Medical College. Another person riding the motorcycle, who was injured in the accident, is undergoing treatment at the same hospital.

In Kavre's Mandandeupur Municipality-12, Thuli Besi, at Beteini Bagar, a tipper with registration number Ba.4 Kha 9825, while loading sand and reversing, was crushed between another parked tipper, resulting in the on-the-spot death of 19-year-old Debendra Tamang.

The police have taken the tipper driver who caused the collision under control. The police have stated that they are conducting necessary investigations into all these accidents.
