Farmer Dies of Electrocution in Banana Orchard in Saptari

Saptari. A farmer has died of electrocution in a banana orchard in Hanuman Nagar Kankalini Municipality-1, Bharadah of the district today.

The deceased has been identified as 48-year-old Sahadev Lougi, a local, informed District Police Office Police Inspector Vijay Karki. According to him, Lougi was electrocuted while connecting wires to send water from an electric motor to sow paddy seeds in the banana orchard.

The Area Police Office, Bharadah stated that an investigation is underway into Lougi's death. During the farming season, in Madhesh Province including Saptari, some farmers have lost their lives while irrigating fields with electric motors and connecting motors. Farmers have demanded that the government pay attention to these risks and reduce them.
