Two children drown to death in Kapilvastu and Rupandehi

Kathmandu, February 23 — Two children have died by drowning in separate incidents in Kapilvastu and Rupandehi.
In the first incident, a 9-month-old child named Diwansh Nisad, the son of Jhinak Nisad from Gorakhpur, India, drowned at a brick kiln in Sano Sishaniya, Shuddhodan Rural Municipality-3 in Kapilvastu.
The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon when the child fell into a water-filled pit at the kiln. Despite being rushed to alocal hospital, his life could not be saved, and he was declared dead.
In the second incident, 7-year-old Bipin Kamu Magar, the son of Yam Bahadur Kamu Magar from Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City-13, also drowned in a culvert in the same area on Saturday evening.
Bipin was found unconscious and was taken to Lumbini Provincial Hospital in Butwal, where he was declared dead after treatment.
Both incidents are under investigation by the police.
