Goal of every religion is to serve humanity: President Paudel

Dharan (Sunsari), February 21 — President Ramchandra Paudel has said the ultimate goal of every religion and their sects is to serve humanity.

Speaking at a ceremony held after the inauguration of the Shree Krishna Pranami Dharmashala in Dharan today, the Head of State said, "The ultimate goal of every religion and sect is to serve humanity, and if this is realized by all, social tolerance will be enhanced."

The President further added that oriental philosophy reflects unity amidst spiritual, cultural, and civilizational diversities. This unity should be promoted as a means to strengthen peace, tolerance, and goodwill globally.

He stressed the need for nurturing mutual friendship, love, harmony, and a sense of coexistence within society.

Talking about the world's growing need for spiritual consciousness and awakening, the President said this suggests the world's desperate quest for peace and happiness amidst significant materialistic advancements.

As he said, an increasing emphasis on material aspirations and competition for them has led to the deterioration of peace, order, mutual goodwill, and cooperation.

According to President Paudel, efforts for spiritual awakening and human service will undoubtedly contribute to promoting love, goodwill, and peace in society, helping to build a cultured and civilized community.

He also acknowledged that the Dharmashala is dedicated to serving humanity.

The President also took part in the Arati prayer ceremony during the event. Koshi Province Chief Minister Hikmat Karki was also present.
