Government invites Pathibhara cable car protesters for talks

Kathmandu, February 21 — The government’s negotiation team has invited those opposing the construction of the cable car in the Pathibhara area of Taplejung district to come to the table for talks.

The team, led by Home Ministry’s Joint Secretary Prem Prasad Bhattarai, issued a statement on Friday urging the protesting parties to engage in discussions to resolve the issue.

"To address the social, religious, cultural, and local community issues raised by the protesting parties during the construction of the cable car in the Pathibhara area, the negotiation team sincerely appeals to the protesters to seriously come forward for talks and dialogue," said Joint Secretary Bhattarai.

To resolve the issue, the Ministry of Home Affairs formed the negotiation team on February 2 under the leadership of Bhattarai.
