Indian Border Security Force DG meets Home Minister Lekhak
Kathmandu, November 17 — Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak held a meeting with a delegation led by Amrit Mohan Prasad, the Director General of the Indian Border Security Force (SSB). The discussion, held at the Ministry of Home Affairs in Singha Durbar, focused on the cordial cooperation between Nepal’s Armed Police Force (APF) and India’s SSB along the Nepal-India border.
During the meeting, Minister Lekhak emphasized the need for collaboration in controlling illegal drug trade, human trafficking, and other criminal activities in border areas. He stressed the importance of maintaining peace and security while ensuring that ordinary citizens do not face hardships in border areas.
The meeting was attended by Home Secretary Gokarna Mani Duwadi, APF Inspector General Raju Aryal, and SSB Director General Amrit Mohan Prasad. Minister Lekhak underscored the need for mutual cooperation to maintain harmony, enhance crime control, and uphold a dignified approach toward citizens crossing the Nepal-India border.
Minister Lekhak also highlighted the historic ties between Nepal and India, stating, "I am confident that the activities of the Border Security Forces at the border will further strengthen the relationship between the two countries."
The high-level SSB delegation, led by Director General Prasad, is in Kathmandu to participate in the annual coordination meeting between Nepal’s APF and India’s SSB.
