One more helicopter mobilised to crash site as bad weather affects rescue
KATHMANDU, July 11: According to the Nepal Civil Aviation Authority, one more helicopter has been mobilised to Manang Air's 9N-AMV helicopter's crash site in Likhupike Rural Municipality of Solukhumbu.
Due to bad weather, the 9N-AMV helicopter of Manang Air, which took off from Surke at 10:10 am, lost contact within 5-7 minutes, according to the Nepal Air Service Operators Association. According to the initial investigation, the helicopter is estimated to have crashed into a tree.
Out of the 6 people on board, 5 dead bodies were found in a burnt state. The condition of one other person on board is unknown.
Aviation Authority's Gyanendra Bhul informed Ratopati that the rescue operation was affected by bad weather. He informed that preparations are being made to bring the dead bodies to Kathmandu, but it is uncertain due to adverse weather conditions.
