18 people including Resham Chaudhary to be released from prison on Republic Day
KATHMANDU, May 28: On the occasion of Republic Day, 18 people will be released from prison, including Resham Chaudhary, the guardian of Nagarik Unmukti Party. The Council of Ministers has recommended to the President to release 18 people according to the amnesty and amnesty provisions.
A Minister informed that the decision was made by the Cabinet meeting that sat on Sunday at the office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers.
Article 276 of the Constitution has a provision on amnesty, where it is said, "The President may pardon, postpone, change or reduce the sentence imposed by any court, judicial or quasi-judicial body or administrative office bearer or body in accordance with the law."
