UML MP Koiri suspended from position of HoR member

KATHMANDU, May 2: A parliamentarian of CPN-UML Laxmi Mahato Koiri, who was accused of murder has been suspended from the position of a House of Representatives member.

The Speaker's Press Expert Shekhar Adhikari informed Ratopati that Speaker Devraj Ghimire suspended MP Koiri from the position of a House of Representatives member in accordance with Sub-Rule 3 of Rule 248 of the House of Representatives Rules.

Speaker Ghimire suspended MP Koiri by publishing the notice during the time when the assembly was not in session.

The Nepal Police sent a letter to Speaker Ghimire On Monday, informing that a case has been filed against MP Koiri on charges of murder and that the investigation is ongoing as he is currently absconding. Speaker Ghimire suspended MP Koiri after receiving the letter.
