Home Minister Shrestha informs House of attempted attack on UML Chair Oli
KATHMANDU, April 26: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha has informed the Parliament of the attempted attack on UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli in Jhapa.
In the meeting of the House of Representatives held on Wednesday, replying to the question raised by UML chief whip Padam Giri, Home Minister Shrestha informed of the tragic incident of stone pelting by a group opposing the naming of Koshi Province while Chairman Oli was heading to the program going to be held on Budhabare of Jhapa.
He informed that the police arrested 1 person involved in stone pelting, while 2 policemen were injured in the process. He also informed the House about the successful completion of the program of Chairman Oli and that Oli later went to Ilam.
Home Minister Shrestha said that he is committed to providing peace and security and requested not to do such activities. He claimed that problems can be resolved through dialogue and talks, and warned not to engage in such unwanted activities.
