By-elections: Agreement to start vote-counting in Chitwan at 1 pm
CHITWAN, April 24: There has been an agreement to start the counting of votes in Chitwan Constituency No. 2 at 1 pm today. Assistant Election Officer Ishwar Acharya informed that there was an agreement to start the vote-counting at 1 pm in the all-party meeting held on Monday morning.
Earlier, in the all-party meeting, Congress and UML representatives raised loud voices saying that Rabi Lamichhane, the candidate of RSP, should be punished. After the stand of UML and Congress, it has been agreed that the Chief Electoral Officer's office will ask Lamichhane for an explanation and the Chief District Officer will take responsibility for the security of the ballot box.
The counting of votes will be done at the Exhibition Center of the Union of Industries in Bharatpur. In Chitwan Constituency No. 2, RSP Chairman Rabi Lamichhane, CPN UML's Ram Prasad Neupane and Jit Narayan Shrestha of Nepali Congress are the candidates that are competing.
