Ruling alliance to hold decisive meeting on Cabinet expansion today
MARCH 28: The ruling alliance is set to convene a meeting today at 4 PM to discuss the expansion of the Cabinet. The Prime Minister's secretariat has confirmed that the meeting will solely focus on the matter.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, and CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal met and agreed to hold a decisive meeting on Tuesday evening.
Sources indicate that Prime Minister Dahal has proposed granting eight ministries to Nepali Congress, including one state minister, five ministries to CPN (Maoist Center), including the post of Prime Minister, three ministries, including one state minister, to Rastriya Swatantra Party and CPN (Unified Socialist), and two ministries to the Janata Samajbadi Party.
It is expected that the meeting will lead to a resolution on the Cabinet expansion issue, which has been a matter of concern for the ruling alliance.
