License of dysfunctional energy traders to be scrapped: Minister Shahi
Nepalgunj - Minister for Energy, Mahendra Bahadur Shahi, has warned the idle license holders trading in electricity would face music.
'The license of individuals or organizations ignoring compliance would be scrapped," said Minister Shahi, addressing a press conference organized by Press Centre, Banke Chapter in Nepalgunj on Monday.
Shahi also shared that the Ministry of Energy had started homework for increasing power production in the country and would not rely on electricity import from India alone to cater to the electricity needs of the country.
He also pledged to tighten the rope against those who were doing business out of the license obtained for trading in energy but not actually generating it in reality.
The Minister also said that the license holders who were dormant for years have been asked to present their progress report to the Ministry within 10 days. "Those not following the instructions would face music including scrapping their licenses," warned Minister Shahi.
