One dies of viral fever

Bajura–One person has died due to viral fever that has spread in Himali rural municipality since the past week. The deceased has been identified Chanchakala Budha,55, of Kyudi in ward no.

5 of the rural municipality. Budha died on May 1. Majority of the residents in Kyudi and Padigaon have been taken ill to viral fever, according to Chief of District Health Office, Bajura Ashok Singh.

A change in the weather has led the people showing symptoms of cough and cold, headache and fever. Meanwhile, a team led by Chief of Rugin Health Post Dhan Bahadur Fadera visited Kyudi village and provided treatment to more than 93 people suffering from the disease.

Two health workers have been stationed in the affected area itself until the disease comes under control, according to the Health Office. The number of people suffering from seasonal diseases like diarrhea, typhoid, cough and cold, dysentery and cholera is found to have increased, information officer at the Officer Kul Bahadur Rawal.

Every day around 150 people suffering from such season diseases are visiting the health centres. Meanwhile, doctors have suggested the people to maintain hygiene and sanitation, and give proper attention to food habits to protect themselves from the seasonal ailments. ---
